{"id":215,"date":"2017-02-26T16:23:32","date_gmt":"2017-02-26T21:23:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.davidschwab.com\/blog\/?p=215"},"modified":"2017-02-26T16:23:32","modified_gmt":"2017-02-26T21:23:32","slug":"dont-text-drive-dental-practice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.davidschwab.com\/blog\/2017\/02\/26\/dont-text-drive-dental-practice\/","title":{"rendered":"Don&#8217;t Text and Drive (Your Dental Practice)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dental procedures require focus.\u00a0 You concentrate on the task at hand and you do not want to be interrupted.\u00a0 However, when it comes to managing the practice, there is a tendency to multitask.\u00a0 Many doctors grab a few minutes of desk time and then overload their circuits.\u00a0 They text, read e-mails, go through their stacks of stuff, talk on the phone, and try to carry on a conversation with an employee and make management decisions.<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s wrong with this picture?\u00a0 In their illuminating book entitled <em>The One Thing: The Surprising Simple Truth Behind Extraordinary Results<\/em>, Gary Keller and Jay Papason point out the fallacy of multitasking.\u00a0 It turns out that the brain, like any given computer, has a limited amount of computing capacity.
