{"id":224,"date":"2017-03-14T13:10:45","date_gmt":"2017-03-14T18:10:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.davidschwab.com\/blog\/?p=224"},"modified":"2017-03-14T13:10:45","modified_gmt":"2017-03-14T18:10:45","slug":"write-killer-content-social-media","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.davidschwab.com\/blog\/2017\/03\/14\/write-killer-content-social-media\/","title":{"rendered":"How to Write Killer Content for Social Media"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Wanted: killer content. \u00a0In my last blog I talked about how to fill up your blog \u201cbucket\u201d on your website with content and send that content out to social media. \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.davidschwab.com\/blog\/2017\/03\/07\/how-blog-and-social-media-content-boost-seo\/\">(Click here to see that post.)<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0Here are some tips for writing killer social media content.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Start with a compelling title<\/strong>.\u00a0 If you are writing about dental implants, for example, here\u2019s a sample title: \u00a0Dental implants Give Woman, 85, New Lease on Life Says Dallas Dentist Dr. John Smile. \u00a0The opening provides a success story in just a few words. There is an 85-year-old woman who is now very happy with dental implants, so the reader is thinking that, yes, older adults can have dental implants.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Put key words in the title<\/strong>. \u201cDental implants\u201d is a good choice.\u00a0 Notice also that the phrase \u201cDallas dentist\u201d is included.\u00a0 Some people search for that exact term.\u00a0 The doctor\u2019s name is also included in the headline.\u00a0 You want to be very visible on the web.\u00a0 The more times your name is mentioned in a professional context, the better.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Limit the title to no more than 70 characters, including spaces<\/strong>. There are different authorities who will give you a slightly lower or higher number, but 70 characters maximum for a blog title will work out fine.\u00a0 If the title is longer, it will likely be cut off by the search engine results page (SERP).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Make the blog interesting and informative<\/strong>. Here is an excerpt from the body of the blog:\u00a0 \u201cWhen I first met her, the patient was unhappy.\u00a0 She could not eat the foods of her choice and she thought she was too old to have dental implant treatment.\u00a0 Now that her dental implant treatment has been completed, she never stops smiling!\u00a0 She eats all her favorite foods, she has a terrific smile, and she does not have to worry about traditional dentures that slip, click, or cause embarrassment.\u00a0 She says she feels young again thanks to dental implants, and she certainly acts that way.\u201d \u00a0Now that&#8217;s killer content!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Include a link to your website at the end of the blog<\/strong>. Some people will click and be taken right to your website. \u00a0Your content is not only about your practice; it leads back to your practice.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Use different authors<\/strong>.
